Made by you Monday's

Due to a little technical difficulty yesterday... my weekly "Made by you Monday" was impossible to post until today (Tuesday). But, here it is... better late than never I guess.
So this week I decided to use my favorite thing in the whole wide world... MOD PODGE.
This stuff is seriously the best invention ever. If you have never used it I highly suggest it for all your crafting needs. It is a glue and sealer all in one... and even comes in glitter (doesn't get much better than that). I've had this awful frame in my room for a while that I've been needing to cover so I gathered up a few sheets of scrapbook paper, mod podge, and a brush and got busy.
First, I just tear off a strip of different srapbook paper and tear all into pieces.
Then I put the mod podge on a section of the frame at a time and start placing on the pieces.
After I glue a little section I go over it to seal the edges down.
If you are unfamiliar with mod podge, don't be afraid of it... it will look like you just covered it with Elmer's glue but it dries clear and looks awesome.
So I just do this in sections until all I'm wanting to cover is covered and sealed... then let it dry overnight.
And woolahhh there you have it... a new"ish" frame :)
This is literally the easiest thing ever to do and the possibilities are limitless. I have done it to clipboards, pickle jars, binders for school, stools, and wooden letters. I have always wanted to do a bathroom wall... hmmm can't wait to finally have my own home. :)
Happy (let's pretend it's Monday)!!!!! Have a wonderful week.

Oh and please tell me this isn't THE cutest couple you have ever seen in your life. They are precious inside and out, not to mention personalities that are out of this world.

Made by you Monday

Skip to my Lou is one of my favorite blogs to follow so I have decided to participate in her "Made by you Monday's" in which every Monday I will post something made by me. I love DIY projects so I thought this would be a perfect way to motivate myself.
Today's post are cupcakes that I made last week for a birthday luncheon at work. I named them surprise cupcakes... and man they are dangerous. You no longer have to choose between a cookie or a cupcake, this is the ideal dessert and SUPER easy.
So you first start out with these ingredients....

Any flavor of cake mix... (vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, etc.), any kind of cookie dough... I get the pre-cut squares and I have only used chocolate chip (but I'm thinking sugar would be delish too), your choice of icing (here I used duncan hines creamy butter cream and it was amazing), cupcake cups, 3 eggs, vegetable oil, water, and your choice of sprinkles (I used mini chocolate chips).
Okay so step 1 is to just make the cupcake batter as printed on the back of the box. Preheat the oven and combine mix, oil, water, and eggs together.

Blend until all is mixed.

Step 2: Put all your cupcake cups into the muffin pan and fill about 2/3 of the cup with batter.

Step 3: Break of a piece of your cookie dough and you can either place in the batter as is, or roll it into a ball, which is how I prefer.

The batter is going to look like its about to overflow the cup once the dough is stuck in but let that worry you... it will turn out perfect.

Step 4: Once those are all stuffed, just pop them in the oven for the suggested time on the box and while they are baking... of course licking the bowl is a must (at least for me).
This little helper was hoping she would get lucky and get a lick herself.

Then WOOOLAHHH!

They come out looking just like a normal cupcake... with a surprise treat inside.
Step 5: Let them cool and ice them with your favorite icing. I thought I'd share a little secret I learned on icing cupcakes. Just dip in using the back of a metal spoon and use a circular motion, so simple.

Step 6: Springle with sprinkles of your choice. For decoration you could even stick a mini cookie in the icing.
Step 7: INDULDGE! Have 2 or maybe even 3. I mean after all, we all know we need those "pick me up's" on Monday's. Have a wonderful week.

Lately...

It's killing me that I haven't been able to update lately, I really feel lost without being able to find time to even read my favorite followers! Buuuut after this past busy week of finals and loads of homework... I am back in the blog world. Two weeks ago one of my closest friends, Reagon, that I graduated with past away in a horrific car accident. It was a tough week for all that knew him, and everyone is still in such shock. You can read more about his accident here. This past week several of his close girlfriends went to give his sweet mom a scrapbook that we made him. It was the best night... we all got to meet his amazingly strong girlfriend and share stories with his family all night.
WE
LOVE
YOU REAGON LYNN!!!
He was truly an amazing person, cowboy, and friend... who was always smiling! His funeral was completley PACKED with from wall to wall with people that loved him. We will miss him everyday!
Please pray for the continued strength of his sweet family and girlfriend.
On a lighter note it's been over ONE whole month since we have been engaged... WOW where does time go? On good Friday, I went shopping for a dress and surprisngly found "the one". It was the first one I tried on and I just knew it was exactly what I was looking for and wanted so we got it ordered and they said it should not be in untill September, but to my surprise... I got the call on Saturday that it is already in!!! EEK! I also went to Canton two weekends ago and found the most perfect bridesmaid's dresses and those are also being ordered. They are so vintage, and exactly what I have been looking for. I am going to start doing lots of post now that I have free time on my hands, so be looking for all the new posts coming up. Hope everyone has a great week!

Details in the making...

A few details are beginnging to unfold.
Photographer: CHECK! I am so extremely excited about our photographer... aside from her being the sister of my best friend, we also grew up 3 houses down from each other. The amazingly talented Melissa Butler owner of Emby Photography will be shooting our engagement pics, my bridals, and our ceremony and reception on the big day. We have already shared a few ideas for our engagement and the thought of it makes me beside myself with excitement. She just started doing photography on the side from her being a teacher AND a mom of 4... and her work is so awesome.
Check out her Emby Photography blog to see all of her creative work she has done so far.
Ceremony site: CHECK! We are having our ceremony at the Avenue Church in Waxahachie.

Minister: CHECK! My brother, Chase, will be marrying us which I am thrilled about! He has never done a wedding before so it will be interesting but so personable at the same time... can't wait!!!

Reception site: CHECK! The reception will be held at the Red Oak Muncipal Center. We went to see this a few weekends ago and are thinking it's perfect and we can do so much to it for a May wedding since there are doors to a covered patio from the ballroom.
Wedding party: CHECK! I am so fired up about this group of people. We love each one so much and are SO happy they have agreed to make this day extra special to us. My group of girls include my two cousins Abby and Katy, best friends Taylor, Sarah, and Blaire, sister-in-law Cali, future sister-in-law Amanda, and cousin Hannah as the flower girl.
Brent's group of guys are his brother-in-law Brian, furture brother-in-laws Chase and Jake, cousin Whitney, and best friends Bates, Jake, and Davis and nephew Brock as the ring bearer.
That's all so far... I'm thinking I'm going to really get truckin' along as soon as Summer hits and school is out... I'll be full force then. Stay tuned for more. Happy Tuesday!!!

We're ENGAGED!!!!!

Okay, so after 5 years of dating my best friend... we are finally ENGAGED!!! I'm so thrilled and overwhelmed with excitement I can hardly stand it. I thought I'd let everyone in on how the whole day went down, and how he completely surprised me with the most perfect proposal ever. So this weekend Brent had planned on my cousin Abby and her boyfriend Andy to come down to Burleson to his sisters to cookout and watch the Ranger game with us. So after a horrible week I'm looking so forward to a relaxing weekend and low and behold, on Friday morning I woke up feeling absolutley horrible... went to the doctor and the dreaded verdict was... STREP! I asked him the quickest way possible to feel well by tomorrow and he suggested the shot, so I took one for the team and let him at it. Went home and slept the rest of that day and woke up Saturday morning feeling better, but still not 100%. So strep throat and all, I pack my bags and hit the road to Burleson. Brent's sister Amanda and I went and ran errands all day, came back... met Abby and Andy and (THANK GOD) did our nails. Brent's parents came by to "take pictures" of his niece and nephew and we are all just outside on the patio hanging out, playing with chalk... and I just ironically doodled this.
Then all of a sudden I hear everyone saying heyyyy so I look (in I swear slow motion) to see my Mom who is carrying Margo, and Dad who is carrying the prettiest roses.
I kept asking what they were doing here and then (still in slow motion) Brent comes out behind my dad and kneals down at my chair. I covered my face and cried in disbelief that it was all happening that he had to tell me to "STAND UP"!
I stood up, and heard the words "Will you marry me"? It took me a while but there was a yes reply... (I think). HA! It is all such a blur what happened from there because of all the excitement but it was absolutley perfect.... not to mention this bad boy.

He did so good. We celebrated for the rest of the night.... It was all perfect.

Here is a video too so you can watch how it all went down. :) I am so excited for all the wedding planning to start... tune in to be updated on all the info!!!
