Made by you Monday's

Due to a little technical difficulty yesterday... my weekly "Made by you Monday" was impossible to post until today (Tuesday). But, here it is... better late than never I guess.
So this week I decided to use my favorite thing in the whole wide world... MOD PODGE.
This stuff is seriously the best invention ever. If you have never used it I highly suggest it for all your crafting needs. It is a glue and sealer all in one... and even comes in glitter (doesn't get much better than that). I've had this awful frame in my room for a while that I've been needing to cover so I gathered up a few sheets of scrapbook paper, mod podge, and a brush and got busy.
First, I just tear off a strip of different srapbook paper and tear all into pieces.
Then I put the mod podge on a section of the frame at a time and start placing on the pieces.
After I glue a little section I go over it to seal the edges down.
If you are unfamiliar with mod podge, don't be afraid of it... it will look like you just covered it with Elmer's glue but it dries clear and looks awesome.
So I just do this in sections until all I'm wanting to cover is covered and sealed... then let it dry overnight.
And woolahhh there you have it... a new"ish" frame :)
This is literally the easiest thing ever to do and the possibilities are limitless. I have done it to clipboards, pickle jars, binders for school, stools, and wooden letters. I have always wanted to do a bathroom wall... hmmm can't wait to finally have my own home. :)
Happy (let's pretend it's Monday)!!!!! Have a wonderful week.

Oh and please tell me this isn't THE cutest couple you have ever seen in your life. They are precious inside and out, not to mention personalities that are out of this world.

Made by you Monday

Skip to my Lou is one of my favorite blogs to follow so I have decided to participate in her "Made by you Monday's" in which every Monday I will post something made by me. I love DIY projects so I thought this would be a perfect way to motivate myself.
Today's post are cupcakes that I made last week for a birthday luncheon at work. I named them surprise cupcakes... and man they are dangerous. You no longer have to choose between a cookie or a cupcake, this is the ideal dessert and SUPER easy.
So you first start out with these ingredients....

Any flavor of cake mix... (vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, etc.), any kind of cookie dough... I get the pre-cut squares and I have only used chocolate chip (but I'm thinking sugar would be delish too), your choice of icing (here I used duncan hines creamy butter cream and it was amazing), cupcake cups, 3 eggs, vegetable oil, water, and your choice of sprinkles (I used mini chocolate chips).
Okay so step 1 is to just make the cupcake batter as printed on the back of the box. Preheat the oven and combine mix, oil, water, and eggs together.

Blend until all is mixed.

Step 2: Put all your cupcake cups into the muffin pan and fill about 2/3 of the cup with batter.

Step 3: Break of a piece of your cookie dough and you can either place in the batter as is, or roll it into a ball, which is how I prefer.

The batter is going to look like its about to overflow the cup once the dough is stuck in but let that worry you... it will turn out perfect.

Step 4: Once those are all stuffed, just pop them in the oven for the suggested time on the box and while they are baking... of course licking the bowl is a must (at least for me).
This little helper was hoping she would get lucky and get a lick herself.

Then WOOOLAHHH!

They come out looking just like a normal cupcake... with a surprise treat inside.
Step 5: Let them cool and ice them with your favorite icing. I thought I'd share a little secret I learned on icing cupcakes. Just dip in using the back of a metal spoon and use a circular motion, so simple.

Step 6: Springle with sprinkles of your choice. For decoration you could even stick a mini cookie in the icing.
Step 7: INDULDGE! Have 2 or maybe even 3. I mean after all, we all know we need those "pick me up's" on Monday's. Have a wonderful week.

Lately...

It's killing me that I haven't been able to update lately, I really feel lost without being able to find time to even read my favorite followers! Buuuut after this past busy week of finals and loads of homework... I am back in the blog world. Two weeks ago one of my closest friends, Reagon, that I graduated with past away in a horrific car accident. It was a tough week for all that knew him, and everyone is still in such shock. You can read more about his accident here. This past week several of his close girlfriends went to give his sweet mom a scrapbook that we made him. It was the best night... we all got to meet his amazingly strong girlfriend and share stories with his family all night.
WE
LOVE
YOU REAGON LYNN!!!
He was truly an amazing person, cowboy, and friend... who was always smiling! His funeral was completley PACKED with from wall to wall with people that loved him. We will miss him everyday!
Please pray for the continued strength of his sweet family and girlfriend.
On a lighter note it's been over ONE whole month since we have been engaged... WOW where does time go? On good Friday, I went shopping for a dress and surprisngly found "the one". It was the first one I tried on and I just knew it was exactly what I was looking for and wanted so we got it ordered and they said it should not be in untill September, but to my surprise... I got the call on Saturday that it is already in!!! EEK! I also went to Canton two weekends ago and found the most perfect bridesmaid's dresses and those are also being ordered. They are so vintage, and exactly what I have been looking for. I am going to start doing lots of post now that I have free time on my hands, so be looking for all the new posts coming up. Hope everyone has a great week!
